ABOUT US
We are a small café and farm shop located at the bottom of the Firth of Thames looking out at the Coromandel Peninsula.
We try to be friendly and unpretentious — and to make the best coffee possible!
We serve Miller's Coffee organic blend (because they produce the best beans!) and local Green Valley Dairy organic barista milk. For tea options we stock a wide selection from Harney and Sons, both black tea and herbal, organic where possible. You can ask for soy milk or almond milk (and hopefully hemp milk some time in the future).
We stock Hakanoa ginger beers and Phoenix Organics fruit juices in our café fridge.
There is a selection of Nice Blocks and Organic Coconut Ice Cream from Little Island Creamery in the freezer.
There is always a selection of fresh seasonal fruit for sale, along with jams, jellies, chutneys and sauces made from any excess that is grown on the property.
Pretty much everything else is produced in the kitchen that services the café
We try to focus on healthy food. You won't get a pie and chips from us. Much of our range of food, both savoury and sweet, is gluten-free, and there are sugar-free and dairy-free options too.
Besides the café, there is an art gallery across the driveway — just ask the staff for directions.
The rest of the property is planted with trees or vegetable beds, all managed organically.
There is a much-photographed toilet behind the shop, made by a friend of ours. If you haven't seen it then it's worth a visit — even if you don't need to spend a penny.
